Singer Susan Boyle Reveals A Peek Inside Her Newly Remodeled Home

Unless your family remains in your childhood home, at some point, that special place will become unfamiliar to you, as the new owners redecorate and create their own space. Most people accept this as a part of life, but not famed singer Susan Boyle. After Susan earned a fabulous amount of wealth with her impressive set of pipes, the entertainer purchased the house where she grew up. Now, Boyle is giving fans a special glance into her remodeled home, in which she's made some deeply personal design choices.

Surprising decisions

"Some people seem surprised that I choose to stay in my family home. Why shouldn't I? I feel Mum is still here and there are so many good memories," Susan said. "I've spent most of my life in this house and I won't move now, because I feel it's part of my new history." And Boyle has made the most of that philosophy.

Then and now

With so much wealth, it would be simple for Susan to buy any kind of house she desired. Instead, she chose to remain in her childhood home. For 60 years, the West Lothian, Scotland, native has lived in the same place. Even though she now owns this house outright, this wasn’t always the case.

New life

Before Susan’s 2009 debut on Britain's Got Talent, she struggled with money. Stepping onto the stage and proclaiming, "I'm trying to be a professional singer," was the start of Susan’s new life. Though the judges and crowd were expecting a flop, Susan’s breathtaking version of "I Dreamed a Dream" from Les Miserables earned her a standing ovation.

First-rate success

Susan came in second place on the show, but her career was first-rate. Less than a year after publicly singing her heart out, she had millions of dollars to her name. More than 25 million copies of her albums have been sold and she was nominated for two Grammy awards.
