Remember the ’90s? It was an era of wacky clothes, bad haircuts, and hella cool women. Girl power was coming to the forefront, and boy did we love it. You probably had posters of these stars on your wall, but are they still as fine as they were back in the day? It’s time for a throwback…

60. Shania Twain

Shania Twain wasn’t just a successful singer during the ’90s; she was a fashion icon as well. She helped make leopard print huge, even rocking up to the 1999 ACMAs sporting a floor-length jacket of it. The leopard-ness has been tamed a bit now, but Twain remains a superstar of the country music world. And she’s still stylin’.

59. Faith Hill

Faith Hill scored two number one hits right off the bat back in 1993. She quickly became a sweetheart of the country scene, and she’s pretty much never stopped since then. Not only has her career lasted past the ’90s, but her marriage has too. Hill wed fellow country singer Tim McGraw in 1996, having known him less than a year, and they’re still together.

58. Alyssa Milano

A young actress named Alyssa Milano became famous in the ’90s with the triple-whammy of Who’s the Boss?, Melrose Place and Charmed. And she’s still acting to this day. Most recently, you might have caught her on the shows Grey’s Anatomy or Insatiable, still looking freakin’ fine.

57. En Vogue

Remember the original line-up of En Vogue? Dawn Robinson, Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron and Maxine Jones. After their success in the ’90s, they’ve had their ups and downs, shall we say. Dawn and Maxine split from the other two in the early ’10s after a fight. And a drawn-out court battle over who got to use the name “En Vogue” followed – oh, snap! Terry and Cindy got it in the end, FYI.

56. Lindsay Davenport

Lindsay Davenport earned her props as one of the top tennis players of the ’90s. Among other things, she won the 1999 Wimbledon Ladies Singles Championship and the 1998 US Open, plus of course she took home an Olympic Gold Medal in 1996. These days she’s a coach, a mother of four and a living legend of women’s tennis.

55. Brittany and Cynthia Daniel

Who could forget the terrific twosome of Sweet Valley High? Although the sisters starred in the show together from 1994 through 1997, they ended up taking different paths in life. Brittany is still an actress – you might have spotted her on black-ish – while Cynthia retired and became a photographer. They have a joint Instagram, though!

54. Lacey Chabert

Lacey Chabert is so fetch! Back in the day, she was on not one but two popular TV shows of the ’90s: All My Children and Party of Five. No curse of the child actor here: her career is still going well, and she looks great. Also, you might remember her as one of the Mean Girls. She can sit with us at lunch any day of the week.

53. Amy Brenneman

Amy Brenneman’s parents were a judge and a lawyer, so it’s not surprising she made a name for herself in crime dramas. She starred in NYPD Blue, Heat and Judging Amy during the ’90s, the last of these being actually based on her own mom’s life. Brenneman’s not quite as famous now as she was back then, but she still maintains a successful acting career. Plus, she’s aged beautifully.

52. Eliza Dushku

Good news for those who want a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot (and who doesn’t?): Eliza Dushku still looks sharp enough to reprise her role as fan favorite Faith. Recently she’s been spending some time studying holistic psychology and starting a family, but we’ve no doubt her acting and vampire-slaying skills are still five-by-five.

51. Andrea Barber

Andrea Barber played Kimmy on Full House for eight seasons when she was a kid. Once the show ended, though, she decided to walk away from the spotlight; she went to college, got a degree and had two kids. But fans hadn’t seen the last of Kimmy yet! In 2016 Barber returned as the character for the sequel series Fuller House.

50. Neve Campbell

You may well have not seen Neve Campbell since Party of Five and Scream, both big ’90s hits. But there was a good reason she dipped out for a bit. In 2018 she explained to Stephen Colbert, “I needed a minute. In my 20s, it all hit so fast and so big that it was a little overwhelming.”

49. Vivica A. Fox

Back in the ’90s Vivica A. Fox rocked all the most fabulous fashion trends in between being a movie star. The wardrobe’s changed, but the face hasn’t. The Independence Day actress is in her 50s now but appears to have barely aged a day. She still is, dare we say it… a fox.

48. Rachael Leigh Cook

Seeing as how Rachael Leigh Cook was a very popular teen actress during the ’90s, you’d be forgiven for wondering where on earth she went. Well, the real answer is that she never went away. She’s been doing Hallmark movies for a long time now plus occasional appearances in TV shows. Oh, and you can expect her to appear in the rebooted She’s All That too, when it finally gets made. We wonder if he’ll get the last dance this time…

47. Michelle Kwan

Figure skater Michelle Kwan has had an absolutely fascinating life. She’s won two Olympic medals and was practically a household name throughout the ’90s, yet she didn’t stop there. She earned herself a master’s degree in international relations, got a job at the U.S. State Department and went on to become a coordinator for Hilary Clinton. Wow! Oh, and she still skates.

46. Tiffani Thiessen

Tiffani Thiessen played Kelly Kapowski on Saved by the Bell and became a lot of people’s first crush in the process. Unfortunately, she’s now taken! She’s married to an actor called Brady Smith and has two kids with him. You can still catch her as Kelly on the 2020 Saved by the Bell reboot, though.

45. Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel shot to fame with 7th Heaven in the ’90s and became a fashion icon too. Turns out she has a couple of regrets about that second thing, though. In 2019 she told InStyle magazine, “I wish I would’ve explored some different shapes and not gone so sexy all the time.” We don’t remember hearing many complaints from fans at the time…

44. Staci Keanan

Staci Keanan was the little girl on My Two Dads, and then the witty Dana in Step by Step from 1991 until 1998. After that, though, she just faded away. But not for any bad reason! She simply quit the biz, got married, went to law school and chose to earn her cheddar as an attorney. And Staci Keanan isn’t even her name anymore: she’s now known as Stacy Birtwhistle.

43. Andie MacDowell

Andie MacDowell was so nearly a fully-fledged A-lister. The ’90s flicks Groundhog Day and Four Weddings and a Funeral put her on the map… but for whatever reason, further stardom just never happened. Yet she still gets steady work as an actress and doesn’t seem to have many regrets. Her ever-youthful looks probably didn’t hurt matters.

42. Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt had a great run throughout the ’90s. She was in House Arrest, Trojan War and of course the mega-famous I Know What You Did Last Summer. She’s since become a mom of two, started a singing career and has found huge success in TV roles including Ghost Whisperer, where she was once again a crush but for a whole different generation.

41. Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes was the girl everyone wanted to take home after seeing her in Dawson’s Creek during the ’90s. Of course, one man in particular succeeded in winning her over – none other than Tom Cruise. But, as we all know, Holmes told Cruise to “Talk to the hand!” The actress has had a few relationships since then, so she’s clearly accepted that she is the girl guys date.

40. Melissa Joan Hart

You know Melissa Joan Hart by other names. During the ’90s she was both Clarissa from Clarissa Explains It All and Sabrina from Sabrina the Teenage Witch. FYI to those of you who had a crush on her, though, she’s taken. She’s been married to musician Mark Wilkerson for over 15 years now.

39. Lucy Lawless

Lucy Lawless will probably always be known as Xena, Warrior Princess, and she’s okay with that. In 2017 the still flawless actress told Vice magazine, “I’ve never run from the legacy of Xena and all of that. I’m really grateful for what it gave me, and the work was fun and created this amazing fan base.” Word.

38. Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore was a true teen idol of the decade, releasing her first record at the age of just 15. If you weren’t a ’90s kid, you probably know her better these days from This Is Us or maybe you recognize her as the voice of Rapunzel from Tangled? Although, if you did miss her first time around, you’ll soon have a chance to catch up because in 2019 Moore announced she was producing a TV show based on her pop star childhood.

37. Uma Thurman

Uma Thurman created one of the most iconic images of the ’90s: her in the short black wig, sipping a milkshake and smoking a cigarette in Pulp Fiction. Posters of Mia Wallace adorned plenty of dorm room walls. Thurman’s taken on plenty more roles since then and remains a beloved, not to mention extremely beautiful actress.

36. Stacey Dash

Stacey Dash shot to fame with the smash hit 1995 film Clueless, where she played Dionne, and she appeared in the spinoff sitcom as well. Recently, though, she’s become more famous for her politics than her acting – and she is not getting any snaps for that. In fact, her controversial comments have led some commentators to dub her a “clueless Clueless actress.”

35. Claudia Schiffer

The gorgeous Claudia Schiffer was one of the biggest supermodels of the ’90s. Her face shone out from countless magazine covers and of course countless bedroom wall posters. Schiffer turned 50 years old in 2020 – but she sure as heck doesn’t look it. And she celebrated the milestone with a custom-made Balmain gown. Nice!

34. Mariah Carey

Singer Mariah Carey was absolutely massive in the ’90s. She broke into the music industry at the age of only 18, and by 1992 she’d already racked up five number one singles. And despite having some ups and downs over the years, Carey’s still reportedly the third-best-selling female artist ever. She made it happen.

33. Carmen Electra

You probably remember Carmen Electra best as Lani McKenzie from Baywatch. Despite the fact she was only on the show for one season, she certainly made an impression. And she clearly has fond memories of her time on the beach, as she told the New York Times in 2018 that she has her iconic red swimsuit framed in the foyer of her home.

32. Julia Stiles

The 1999 movie 10 Things I Hate About You made Julia Stiles a star. Who could forget the incredible dance that led to many a teenage girl replicating the routine in their own bedrooms? In fact, it was that very scene that led Stiles to be cast in the leading role in Save The Last Dance. She’s chilled out since becoming a mom – son Strummer was born in 2017 – and now prefers to take on smaller projects, such as the British television show Riviera. But we bet she’s still got the moves.

31. Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson was a child star in the ’70s, like many of her siblings, but it was in the ’90s that she established herself once and for all as a superstar in her own right. It was during that decade, in 1991, that she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame no less. If you fancy reminding yourself of her slammin’ choreography, she’s planning to go on tour again soon…

30. Sarah Jessica Parker

We can’t help but wonder what Sarah Jessica Parker would be without Sex and the City. Audiences loved her, and she won multiple awards for her portrayal of Carrie Bradshaw. Even now, having done plenty of other stuff since the show ended, it’s what she’s best known for. And let’s be honest, it’s thanks to her that the idea of running through the streets of Manhattan wearing outrageous clothes and inappropriate footwear will always be an aspiration for so many ’90s kids.

29. The Spice Girls

The Spice Girls need no introduction, right? Whether Geri, Emma, Victoria, Mel B. or Mel C. was your personal favorite, there’s no denying that as a collective they took the world by storm and caused a whole new wave of Britpop. The band may not be together anymore, but they still meet up for big events and demonstrate some of that girl power that made them so famous.

28. Tia Carrere

Tia Carrere was everywhere in the ’90s. She was in Wayne’s World, of course, but also True Lies, Kull the Conqueror, Relic Hunter, and more. These days she’s playing a badass character called Lady Danger in the Netflix show AJ and the Queen. We’re not worthy, and we never were.

27. Elizabeth Hurley

Elizabeth Hurley was just Hugh Grant’s girlfriend until she wore that dress. Remember, the 1994 black number stuck together with safety pins? It made her into a megastar practically overnight. She may not have had many starring roles over the years, but that one outfit has ensured she’ll live long in the memory.

26. Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz was catapulted to stardom when she was cast to play Tina in 1994’s The Mask opposite Jim Carrey. She had plenty more hits in the ’90s, including There’s Something About Mary (remember the fringe?!) and Being John Malkovich. Unfortunately for fans, she announced her retirement from acting in 2018, but you can still catch her on Instagram if you need a fix.

25. Gwen Stefani

Young Gwen Stefani rocked ’90s fashion like no one else could – and she looked hella good doing it, too. Bright colors, bare torsos, an inexplicable fluffy blue bikini at the 1998 VMA awards – the No Doubt star did it all. Thankfully, the singer’s on-stage style is still pretty out there, which in all honesty is one of the things fans love about her. We’d love her to bring back the wacky hair, though!

24. Meg Ryan

If you weren’t there, it’s probably hard to grasp just how big Meg Ryan was, because she’s pretty much unheard of these days. She did a lot of smash hit-films in the ’90s, including Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail. Although, it’s probably fair to say, that it was actually one moment from 1989 movie When Harry Met Sally that got Ryan’s picture stuck inside locker doors for the next decade.

23. Kylie Minogue

Kylie Minogue is an established living legend now, but back in the ’90s she was a cute rebel chick who everyone wanted to either be like or be with. She released some of her biggest hits during this era, including “What Do I Have To Do?” and “Better The Devil You Know.” The Australian star has been through a lot since then but O-M-G she’s still a hottie!

22. Danica McKellar

Many, many kids of the ’90s had a crush on Winnie Cooper from The Wonder Years, a.k.a. young actress Danica McKellar. McKellar grew up alongside those kids, and now she’s a mathematics expert who sometimes poses for men’s magazines. She’s got beauty and brains. What more could you ask for?

21. Mia Hamm

Sports fans of a certain age will remember Mia Hamm. She was a women’s soccer star, one who happened to be both extremely talented and totally crushworthy. And she still is! Hamm made it to the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2007 and now inspires other young sportswomen to follow in her footsteps.

20. Tia & Tamera Mowry

Be honest, how many times did you shout, “Go home, Roger!” while watching Sister, Sister? Tia and Tamera still come as a pair, but both have separate careers of their own as well. Tamera, now Tamera Mowry-Housley, hosted talk show The Real for seven years and does Hallmark movies. And Tia Mowry-Hardrict has her own lifestyle show and a role on the sitcom Family Reunion.

19. Julia Roberts

From swooning with Richard Gere and Hugh Grant to keeping us gripped alongside Denzel Washington and Patrick Bergen, it seemed as if Julia Roberts’ famous smile was everywhere in the ’90s. These days, she’s not as prolific as she used to be, but it’s not like she’s disappeared. She still pops up in movies, and in 2018 she appeared in her first ever TV show: Homecoming. Plus she’s still a Pretty Woman, of course.

18. Lark Voorhies

We’re sure there were days you raced home from school to catch the next episode of Saved by the Bell. Perhaps it was for the storylines, or maybe it was to catch a glimpse of Lark Voorhies as Lisa Turtle? Unfortunately, when the show finished, she stopped getting major roles and interviews indicated that the actress was having personal problems. But then in 2020 a reboot of Saved by the Bell came along and there she was, looking much happier and just as cute as we remember.

17. Karyn Parsons

Karyn Parsons was super crushed-on by anyone who watched The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. She played Hilary Banks, Will Smith’s cousin, from 1990 to 1996. Now the actress is over 50 years old, and living her best life. She produces the Black history animation series Sweet Blackberry, and notably she hasn’t ruled out doing more Fresh Prince one day, which is pretty dope.

16. Pamela Anderson

As you must know, Baywatch is famous for one thing: hard-hitting storylines that promoted ocean safety… Psyche! But it definitely is known for the swimsuit-wearing gorgeous women running in slow-motion along the shore. Of those beach babes, Pamela Anderson was probably the most desired. And having passed the milestone of the big 5-0, she’s still a blonde bombshell.

15. Gillian Anderson

Gillian Anderson made the supernatural sexy as Dana Scully in The X-Files. She’s currently playing Margaret Thatcher in The Crown, but it’s probably fair to say that her role in Sex Education would have been more likely to get her poster back up on the wall. How does she stay looking so young?! Well, for once it isn’t aliens, just a really good skin care regime.

14. Naomi Campbell

No-one was the image of ’90s cool like Naomi Campbell was. She was one of the most elite, most sought-after supermodels of the era. In her 2020 autobiography Naomi, the star mused, “Everything we wore and every restaurant we went to was written about in the papers. It seemed weird to us that people should care.” But they did, and they still do.

13. Kate Winslet

After watching Kate Winslet in Titanic, some people just couldn’t let go. Winslet played Rose, a feisty rich girl who falls in love with Leonardo DiCaprio’s broke artist. To the disappointment of many ’90s kids, she never did get together with Leo. But she did embark on an A-list acting career that she’s maintained to this day, along with her graceful elegance.

12. Michelle Williams

Michelle Williams became a teen idol with Dawson’s Creek back in 1998. But when it came time for her to transition into more grown-up roles, she made it look easy. These days she’s a very successful actress, and a lot of people don’t even remember that she was once Jen Lindley. Us ’90s kids do, though.

11. Brandy Norwood

Brandy Norwood was so famous that she was able to drop the surname and just be known as “Brandy.” She was one of the biggest teen stars of the ’90s, but as with so many before, her fame took its toll. The Moesha star seems to be on more solid ground these days, though, and also she looks amazingly identical to her ’90s self.

10. Shannen Doherty

Shannen Doherty was on not one but two massive ’90s shows: Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed. Whether you were more of a fan of Brenda or Prue, there’s no denying that Shannen still looks incredible these days. Especially so when you consider her ongoing battle with breast cancer.

9. Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst was a force to be reckoned with in the ’90s. She delivered some of her biggest hits during that period: Little Women, Jumanji and The Virgin Suicides to name a few. But as we all know, her career didn’t end there. Kirsten’s still a very popular and very accomplished actress. And she’s still got that adorable face.

8. Winona Ryder

In 2018 Winona Ryder spoke to Harper’s Bazaar magazine about being an icon of ’90s fashion. She said, “It’s hard to talk about the influence of the ’90s because I lived through it, so I see it differently than the younger generation. People are obviously carefully cherry-picking the better trends – there were a lot of bad looks in the ’90s.” But it’s safe to say hers weren’t among them.

7. Yasmine Bleeth

Yasmine Bleeth was one of the Baywatch babes, setting hearts alight as she ran across beaches in her red swimsuit. Unfortunately though, once Baywatch finished she started to suffer personal problems and hasn’t acted in a while. You never know, though, she could still be back on TV screens one day.

6. Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore was the absolute embodiment of grunge style in the ’90s. She rocked plaid shirts, gothic necklaces, leather jackets – everything rebel girls of the time longed to have in their wardrobe. Unsurprisingly, she did a lot of modeling work in that era. But these days she’s busy being a super cool mom to her two kids.

5. Alicia Silverstone

Alicia Silverstone was just the most awesome person in the world after Clueless. That movie had a meteoric impact: it changed fashion, changed slang and changed its lead actress from a tomboy into a total betty. Nothing Silverstone’s done since has been such a game-changer, but you can still catch her on TV. Whatever!

4. The ladies of Friends

It’s not much of a stretch to say that no show from the ’90s was as beloved, as popular and as iconic as Friends. It made its three lead actresses, Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow into household names. And all that early success paid off, since the three are still very famous actresses. They’re all still real friends as well, aww!

3. Britney Spears

When Britney Spears burst onto the scene with …Baby One More Time, she brought with her some insanely catchy songs and absolutely iconic outfits. The crop tops alone made her a poster girl, not to mention those plaits. Now Britney’s all grown up, but no one will forget the magic that she created in the ’90s.

2. Sarah Michelle Gellar

Of course, you simply cannot have a list of ’90s crushes without Sarah Michelle Gellar. In case you need reminding (whaaaa?), she’s the woman who played Buffy the Vampire Slayer – possibly the biggest TV action heroine of the era.
